The Landes forest is located in the South-West of France, between the Garonne and Adour rivers, and borders the Atlantic Ocean. It is mainly made up of maritime pines, but also includes oaks. This dark-colored honey has a pronounced, woody flavor. It blends easily with a variety of sweet dishes, and can also be used to marinate or caramelize red meats. Its glycemic index varies from its essence, but it still has a lower impact on blood sugar than sucrose. Used for thousands of years, honey was already used to sweeten food in ancient Egypt.
