Description
Organic shea butter
A little history:
Shea (Butyrospermum parkii) is a stubby, deciduous African tree growing up to 15 m tall.
Its foliage is dark green, its flowers white and melliferous.
Known as shea “nuts”, they are brown ovoid drupes 5 to 10 cm long, weighing around 50 grams.
Harvest time:
This fleshy, edible fruit contains a large, whitish-colored kernel whose pulp is rich in fatty substances, the famous shea “butter” so highly prized in cosmetics.
It is the women who harvest the nuts once they have fallen to the ground and reached maturity.
The women then proceed to pulping, removing the mesocarp from the nuts. The nuts are then washed and dried in the sun.
The women then crush the nuts to release the almonds, which are roasted and crushed to a paste, then churned and kneaded by hand.
An exceptional composition:
Shea butter contains: fatty acids (oleic, linoleic, stearic, palmitic), fatty acid esters, phytosterols (karisterol, spinasterol, stigmasterol), karitene-rich latex, tocopherol (vitamin E), carotenoids.
Unique benefits:
Shea butter is a blessing for the skin, being: nourishing, moisturizing, softening, anti-inflammatory, antioxidant (anti-aging), healing.
But still… :
It helps restructure damaged skin, erase scars and stretch marks, and is active in cases of burns, cracks, insect bites and eczema.
It deeply nourishes and revitalizes the skin, restoring its suppleness, elasticity and radiance.
It is particularly recommended for reducing the stigma of skin aging, namely wrinkles.
Not to mention its popular use by women for the health and beauty of their hair, from roots to ends.
