Organic vitamin D3 (or cholecalciferol) is produced by the skin through the action of ultraviolet B rays. Although the body can obtain it in small quantities from certain foods (oily fish, egg yolks, organ meats, etc.), the main source of vitamin D3 (80%) is skin synthesis.
However, certain factors disrupt this production: low winter sunshine, atmospheric pollution, use of sunscreens, skin pigmentation and skin aging. What’s more, in our latitudes, skin synthesis is only effective from June to October.
According to a report by the French Academy of Medicine, nearly 80% of the Western population lacks vitamin D. It may then be useful to take supplements. Our organic Vitamin D3 can help :
