Verbena is very popular in cooking, and can be used in sweet preparations such as creams and pastries. It also easily flavors sparkling water and other iced teas and lemonades.
Introduced to Europe by the Spanish in the 18th century, this aromatic plant of the Verbenaceae family, native to South America, is harvested between July and September. It is often confused with lemongrass or verbena officinalis, which are in fact three quite distinct plants. Our verbena is harvested in France.
Directions for use verbena infusion -50g :
– Pour 5 grams of mixture into 1/2 liter of boiling water.
– Cover
– Leave to infuse for 5 to 15 minutes
– Filter
– To be enjoyed all day long
